The ninth CFO Strategy & Innovation Summit, organised by The Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA), will take place in Warsaw on 24 September 2026. Bringing together experts, CFOs and business leaders from Poland and beyond, the summit will explore how artificial intelligence is reshaping the finance function, transforming decision-making and redefining the role of people within organisations. Special guests will include Pascal Finette, an internationally acclaimed expert in innovation and business transformation and the bestselling author of books on navigating rapid change.

This year’s theme, “The Future of Finance Is Human: Human-Led, AI-Enabled”, reflects a simple but important idea: AI may be transforming finance, but people must continue to set the direction, exercise judgement and take responsibility for decisions.

The programme will centre on two closely connected themes:

  • Business Guidance, looking at how knowledge, professional judgement and leadership can support better decisions and create value for organisations.
  • Business Governance, exploring how organisations can build trust, strengthen transparency and maintain effective oversight as their use of artificial intelligence grows.

Through keynote presentations, panel discussions, case studies and an interactive cyber response workshop, participants will examine some of the most pressing questions facing finance leaders today. These will include how AI is changing operating models, who is accountable for AI-supported decisions, how organisations can build trust in new technologies, and which capabilities finance leaders and their teams will need for the future. Cyber resilience will also feature prominently on the agenda.

Jakub Bejnarowicz, Regional Director – Europe at CIMA, said:

“In a world awash with information and AI-generated content, trust is becoming more valuable than ever. Organisations need professionals who can bring credibility, ethical awareness, critical thinking and sound judgement to the decision-making process.

“This year’s summit will explore how the power of AI can be combined with human expertise, enabling finance to support business growth even more effectively.

“We do not want simply to talk about trends. Our ambition is to show how global experience can be translated into practical decisions, processes and solutions for organisations.”

In his session, “Cheap Intelligence, Expensive Judgment”, he will examine why the quality of decision-making and professional judgement matters more than ever as AI makes analysis and information increasingly accessible.
  • Callum McMahon, Finance Transformation Director at Skyscanner. In “Building the Future Finance Organization: How AI Reshapes Workflows, Roles and Value Creation”, he will look beyond the automation of individual tasks to explore how AI can transform entire workflows, redefine roles and change the way finance creates value.

Throughout the day, the summit will provide opportunities for professionals from different countries, industries and business functions to share their experiences and learn from one another.
