Jensen Huang announced minority stakes in five UK startups at a London event. The companies are Boltz, Foresight, Hiverge, Prima Mente, and Riverlane. The equity percentages and voting rights were not disclosed.
Speaking the same night, Huang said the UK has “superpowers in intellect” and some of the world’s best universities, but that “if there was a million ways to win, you find the one reason not to do it.” He said the entrepreneurial spirit was missing. He had also told a reporter that the UK should keep talking to researchers in China, because it has the intellectual capital and the position in the world. We have covered NVIDIA’s other capital moves over here.
Which Companies Receive the Investment?
NVIDIA is funding five British businesses that will need its chips and its stack. The amounts and the votes are not public.
- Boltz is a London startup founded by Massachusetts Institute of Technology researchers building biomolecular models and AI agents.
- Foresight helps infrastructure project owners predict completion dates and mitigate risk, including for hyperscale data centres.
- Hiverge was founded by researchers from Google DeepMind and the University of Cambridge.
- Prima Mente builds biological foundation models, starting with research targeting Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, and ALS.
- Riverlane builds real-time quantum error correction hardware and software across major qubit types.
How Does the Capital Fit European Plans?
The UK investments sit alongside a wider European push.
NVIDIA recently announced investments in French startups Doctolib, Entalpic, Genesis AI, and Pigment. The same report said NVIDIA spent $8 billion across Europe over the past year, and will announce an additional $2 billion in European investments next week. Huang will deliver a keynote at GTC Berlin at 11 a.m. CEST on October 21, 2026.
The company has also committed $250 million in computing power over five years to UK research on agentic safety and security. More than 3,100 UK companies already participate in the NVIDIA Inception programme, which provides development tools and technical assistance to early-stage businesses. NVIDIA’s position in European infrastructure is one we have mapped over here. It sells the chips, buys the capacity, and takes stakes that do not always carry votes.
